Had Bouhssousen Commune Launches Participatory Diagnostic Process for Climate Change Adaptation
Within the ASTA project framework, Had Bouhssousen commune, Khénifra province, in partnership with AIDECA, has launched a participatory diagnostic process to identify climate change impacts across its territory.
Launch of an Innovative Participatory Diagnostic Process
Within the framework of the ASTA (ⴰⵙⵎⵓⵙⵙⵓ - ⵜⴰⴷⵔⴰⵡⵜ) project — “Towards inclusive territorial public policies for climate change adaptation”, Had Bouhssousen commune, Khénifra province, in partnership with Association Al Intilaka (AIDECA), launched a participatory diagnostic process aimed at identifying the impacts of climate change on the different zones of its territory, on Monday, June 30, 2025.

Inclusive and Active Participation of Local Actors
This approach is based on inclusive and active participation of local actors, civil society, and members of the equality and gender approach body. It is part of the implementation of an innovative participatory tool developed by AIDECA with its partners, and piloted for the first time in five communes in the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region.

This process aims to strengthen the capacities of territorial communities in integrating the climate dimension into planning, implementation and evaluation of local public policies, thus contributing to strengthening community resilience in the face of climate challenges.
Participatory and Field-Based Methodology
The diagnostic relies on direct field interviews with population representatives, surveys, and thematic workshops during which local actors gather around shared maps and documents to identify local impacts of climate change and propose adaptation pathways.
