At AIDECA, our Migration programs focus on promoting the rights and well-being of migrants, refugees, and host communities in Morocco. As a country of origin, transit, and destination for migrants, Morocco faces complex migration challenges that require comprehensive, rights-based approaches.
In recent years, Morocco has adopted a more progressive migration policy, regularizing the status of thousands of migrants and refugees. However, significant challenges remain in ensuring that migrants have access to basic services, legal protection, and pathways to socio-economic integration.
Our initiatives aim to strengthen the capacities of local authorities and civil society organizations to respond to migration challenges, provide direct support services to migrants and refugees, combat discrimination and xenophobia, and promote intercultural dialogue and social cohesion between migrant and host communities.

Promoting Rights-Based Migration Policies
Our approach to migration issues is grounded in human rights principles and recognition of the positive contributions that migrants make to both host and origin communities.
Through our Rights and Integration of Migrants project, we work with local authorities and civil society organizations in the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region to strengthen referral mechanisms for migrants in need, improve access to basic services such as healthcare and education, and create spaces for intercultural exchange that foster mutual understanding and social cohesion.
We also recognize the important linkages between migration and our other program areas, particularly climate resilience and socio-economic inclusion. By addressing factors such as climate vulnerability and limited economic opportunities that can drive migration, we aim to ensure that migration becomes a choice rather than a necessity.
