Regional Climate Adaptation Forum brings territorial actors together in Béni Mellal
AIDECA organized the regional forum on climate change adaptation in Béni Mellal-Khénifra, building on ASTA results and bringing more than 177 participants into dialogue.
A regional space for climate dialogue
On 26 March 2026, AIDECA organized the Regional Forum on Climate Change Adaptation in the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region at the Chamber of Agriculture in Béni Mellal.
The forum was designed as a multi-stakeholder space for territorial dialogue, local innovation, and inclusive governance. It brought together local authorities, public institutions, civil society organizations, researchers, cooperatives, small enterprises, young leaders, women, media actors, and economic stakeholders.

Building on ASTA
The forum built on the results of the ASTA project, implemented by AIDECA within the AMUSSU framework under the Strategic Support Programme for Civil Society, part of the Morocco-European Union partnership for 2023-2027.
Through participatory diagnostics, citizen mobilization, and advocacy work, ASTA helped local actors strengthen understanding of climate risks and identify adaptation priorities across vulnerable territories.
Key themes
The forum programme focused on climate risk and vulnerability, climate-sensitive territorial planning, integrated water management, green entrepreneurship, climate finance, access to climate information, and inclusive participation of women and young people.
According to AIDECA’s public updates, the forum gathered more than 177 participants and capitalized on an 18-month ASTA process involving five communes, more than 690 citizens and elected representatives, and 45 associations and cooperatives.
