AMSAWAS+ opening workshop equips young women for civic and political participation
An opening workshop for young women in Azilal Province on civic participation, the updated electoral framework, territorial government powers and parliamentary legislation.
Launching a pathway for young women in Azilal
The project’s opening workshop brought together a representative of Azilal Province, the coordinator of the provincial coordination and monitoring unit for the fund supporting women’s representation, and the caïd of Tifni. A valuable thematic contribution from the deputy president of Demnate commune was followed by institutional remarks from AIDECA’s Executive Director.

Workshop themes
The programme focused on the following strategic themes:
- Participation mechanisms and citizenship: equipping young women with the legal and practical tools to play an active civic role in local and national public affairs.
- Electoral developments and youth political participation: exploring the new rules and the opportunities available for young people to access decision-making spaces and strengthen their presence in political life.
- Territorial government powers and parliamentary legislation: clarifying the distinction between Parliament’s oversight and legislative roles and the direct development responsibilities of communal and territorial councils.

Thanks to everyone involved
We extend our sincere thanks to all the young women for their strong participation and thoughtful discussions, as well as to the partners and trainers who helped make this stage a success.
